It's the equivalent of clipping coupons. They don't want to reward the people who are too lazy to do it or don't know about them.
Of course. But looking for something better than one for one. Cant transfer to regular chase points. Looking for a gift card or other sweet deal. Maybe they dont exist for the chase Amazon points.

Also AMEX offers 3% back on their everyday blue cash card already

I'll just stick to my cards that give me these same rewards year round without any additional effort at all. Penfed gas 5%, multiple local credit union cards give 3% at dining and grocery.
