There are many benefits to airplay2 including better connectivity, and being able to multicast to multiple airplay2 devices in sync at the same time. I've been waiting for a deal like this for a while and this is the best deal according to CCC.

Used Airport Express + 3.5mm optical adapter cable is overall cheaper and has a surprisingly good DAC. It also has ethernet and can pass through another wired device. It can also be administered from any Mac on the network with Airport Utility. Also diverting away from landfill is also a bonus.
