this is usb 3.0 but the drive itself is slow.
Please add something useful, such as stating that this is not the quality Lexar of olde, but rather some Chinese shell of its former self since 2017.
I can't comment on the company, but I think I found the product on Amazon. The reviews seem mostly positive, but in my quick glance over them, I did notice a few dead on arrival reviews.

In general, I've been pretty unimpressed with the longevity of flash drives. They seem to burn out fairly quick. $5 doesn't seem to be a bad price at all for a try, but I just wish Amazon had it for this price. I think the 32gb(?) is about $8 there. Not sure if Amazon would price match Buydig. If something went wrong, I'd be more comfortable with the return process on Amazon, as well as a negative review there potentially having more reach, and more power

Is this true or you're jk? $5 for a 32 GB 3.0 seems like a decent deal. I need a spare drive for making bootable disks.
USB 3.0 doesn't mean much if it's 10MB/s transfer speeds.

There is no flash drive which could use the 5Gbps speed of USB 3.0. The fastest drive could not even reach 4Gbps.

Anyone recommend a USB drive that is fast enough to run an OS from? At least 32GB

I bought during the last sale. Performance is pretty abysmal. The drive can do > 100 MB/s for a few seconds but then the IOPs drop to zero for many seconds at a time. Attached is a graph of 1MB Sequential Writes QD-1 under Linux using FIO [die.net] for 60 seconds.

i was going to say Microcenter has 2 for $19 and it's USB 3.1 which is faster than this one.

Shipping cost kills the Microcenter deal....unless you live close to one

Have 4 of these configured in a ZFS pool, serving as NFS mount and Samba share for movies and music. Did not try it on crappy filesystems such as Windows NTFS etc.

Exactly my experience with this drive. The burst speed is good for a couple of seconds, then it's back down to 0MB/s for much longer than the burst speed.

In all, the average speed is slow.

The samsung bar plus is good, but it is the same price for a 64GB ($12 currently)

The lowest it had been on SD was $8 for 64GB.

I am waiting for the $8

I had this drive. Died after a year and became readonly. Speeds were mediocre. I was surprised it died b/c it didn't overheat lke the Sandisk crap. Samsung Fit is my go-to.

Just opened the 32G version today, and after reformating to get rid of their junk files. Dropped a 20G file with 2300 music files and it stalled out at 16G. After reformating it won't even move 40 files. And when it does time frame is in the hours. I'll be returning mine even though it was super cheap. For how light it is it's not even worth being a paperweight.

Flash drives at these bargain bin price points don't do wear leveling. That means one cell can get hammered from repeated writes while others get little to no writes. A single bad cell can render the stick useless, see where I'm going?

Are you saying it's just a lottery, and some aren't going to be made as well?
