USBC is a huge welcomed change. Stream line all charging ports.(not to mention maybe will have indisplay face id.)
Try shoot 100GB of Prores video on iPhone 13 pro max and transfer that over lightning port lol (every min of video footage is 3+GB size )

Both are susceptible to corruption.
I have all of my things cloud backed up which has redundant storage on multiple servers.
That being said, I have no problems with an SD card slot, options are good, the more options the better on a flagship device in my opinion, just be aware that SD card slots can corrupt much more easily than redundantly stored cloud backup solutions.
