Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Below is what makes no sense for many people. Airfares are usually cheaper when booked through websites or travel agents than booking it through Travel Portals offered by banks and Credit Card companies.
I had BOfA travel rewards and I just requested them to offer me a better product.

Amex Platinum gives you 5x points if you use their portal or directly with the airline.

As I mentioned earlier, I "usually" find cheaper airfares on sites like cheapoair.Com etc. Travel portals from Banks/Credit Card Companies/Airlines website has been comparatively expensive.

Have you try Google flights? It usually takes you directly to the airline website, which sometimes Google get flight that is even cheaper than searching directly on airline website for the same flight. Also combine with PlanMore Trip and flight penguin chrome extension, they cross check all the online travel agents for you so you don't have to check each one.
any idea about credit score and credit history requirements for this card? I just want to check roughly if I fall in this credit card eligibility criteria

I don't agree with you.
1. Capital One portal has price almost same as any other reputable company. ( Cheapoair is a fishy company and you will have issue if the airlines cancels or changes flight due to any reason)
2. And even if the price is low at Cheapoair, Capital One will price match the price of you find it cheaper at any site and that includes sites like Cheapoair.
3. Bookings through their portal gives you 5x points which is of significant value if a family of 2-4 making international trips.
I am saying all these as I have had real life experiences. Have booked through cheap sites like Cheapoair and flights got cancelled as airlines sold too many subsidized tickets to these companies and later asked for more money from these companies and then cancelled the tickets without any notice. My fund was held with these cheap travel site for 3 months till I filed CC dispute.
I have booked through Capital One Portal and they have refunded me as price match as I found tickets for less within 24 hr.
I would trust Capital One portal more than these cheap sites who are very very fishy.
I think Venture X with a $395 is better as that comes with a $300 travel credit and then 5X on alot of spent.
But again everyone's situation is different
I agree 100% with you. It also comes with 10k point bonus each year.
And don't forget Priority Pass for you and an authorized user for free which can be used at thousands of lounges to get rest, food, showers if you travel.
I would suggest getting Venture X if you are getting this Capital One card
Are you sure Amex gives you 5x points for using the Card at airline directly?? I read it's for use in their portal.
Yes. I contacted chat and call they both 100% sure. And here are the rule on their website.
Earn 5x Membership Rewards® points on flights and prepaid hotels on amextravel.com booked by both you and your Additional Card Members. You earn 5X points on flights purchased directly from airlines or American Express Travel on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year.‡

That's good to know. But for me $695 annual fee is too much for lesser benefits. Amex Platinum gives PP to only main account holder and charge to add each authorized user. Also the PP with Amex Platinum can take one guest with him or her with PP, but Capital One PP allows 2 guests

Yep, I only got it because of 150k points ,global entry, clear, Walmart plus, Disney bundle, hotel credit, prob gonna cancel next year once benefit is no longer benefited.

Not cash. Cash would only be 1/2, so $375. Different vendor credits (Amazon, PayPal) are more. But the only way to get 750 is toward travel.
