Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.

Thank you OP! Got this card a few weeks ago & just recently got the bonus as well. Its life-changing and I love using all the benefits/rewards it has to offer. The annual fee basically pays for itself once you convert the miles to cash

Check into that. With the Venture, cashing points into cash only gives you half value. You can use them to make travel related purchases or to "reimburse" yourself for travel related purchases for full value.
If you're new to the credit card game, look into Chase cards as well. Most of those you can redeem points for full cash value.
PLEASE RESPOND. I am divorcing. She took over the Hilton AMEX. As far as travel benefit, flight or hotel. What card is going to be most beneficial? I will have about $10k in charges from attorneys, so I want to gain some bennifit. Opinions?

Just fyi It doesn't appear this message is a direct response to to another message. Maybe whomever you wanted to respond didn't see it.
Also, be careful what you post online as you never know what wifey's attorney could uncover and use against you. Good luck man!

Got the card as well and I thought I would be denied based on the first few pages of comments.

Decent income, low rent, no car payment.
Even though they don't ask about the car payments, banks always seem to ask about the rent and if you're paying an arm and a leg for rent they flake in my opinion.
With the Venture they won't give you full value on cashback unless you count being reimbursed for travel expenses. I have a Spark Business card as well as the Venture and the Spark card will give you cash back at 100% value.

It's probably one of the best customers service experience s I have had ... and their cards are great

[a NON-business card with that bonus!]
chase had 750, and the points to get the amount u had to spend.. just pp yourself to one acctz pay the fee then u get the points which really made the fee less than 2% and ie . spend 4k get 4000 points pay $120 in fees get $40 back in new points so get 790-120 is 670, better than 650 with no fee and pay back the cc with the $ u lent yourself indirectly.. and had 12 or 15 months zero interest.

Why did you cancel? I'm looking to get it but I just got 3 different cards recently so I have to wait another 12 months.
