Nope. It doesn't work like that. Not a single game uses the full bandwidth of SSDs, yet, so that 7100 is completely useless. It would literally load games 1 or 2 seconds faster than the stock SSD. Digital Foundry tested a drive with a speed of 3200 and even that was nearly identical to the stock one. On occasion, it took one second longer to load. That was the only difference. No mid-level loading or any hiccups.

I have one with a speed of 3600 (the PS5 reads it at 3400) and there is no difference at all. The only reason to get something as fast as what you mentioned would be for future-proofing, which is fine, but until games start actually taking advantage of that speed, it's just sitting there and it's a waste of money.

This is actually a good deal, as far as 2TB goes. This is a much better purchase for PS5 than what you're talking about.

By the time we see the difference between the nvme drives, PS8 will be out.

You are free to waste your money for no actual gain other than higher numbers on paper. Each to their own...

Who cares? Are you obligated to let everyone know in every nvme thread about it? Take a break
Obligated? Are you really bothered that this guy's out here offering good advice and clearing up nonsense that others post??? What kinda logic is this and what are you here for, if not for deals and helpful information about said deals?

We expect better of you, Matthew.

The specs of this SSD don't compare to the Rocket 4 Plus. Case closed
Deal went Frontpage then went dead within 4 hours of you posting this. Case closed.

Thank you! I'm not posting on these threads for fun. I'm doing it, because too many people don't realize they'll be perfectly fine with a slower SSD and too many other people keep telling people to spend more money than is necessary. I'm doing exactly what SlickDeals exists for… saving people money. People like that guy are ridiculous. There's zero logic behind posts like his.
