Looking for the cheapest way to get a Milwaukee M18 battery and charger. Would this deal seem like a good way to get that?

Is m12 fuel a lot better than the m12. I recently got the dewalt atomic set of drill and impact for 149. Thinking if I should get the 5 tool Milwaukee m12 for 224 instead. Any advice?

I think I heard m12 fuel is equivalent to m18. But I'll let other chime in too because I'm not in the Milwaukee system

I have m12 drill set and they have good power and battery life. We use m18 nail guns at work just not drills(yet) and they aren't bad on battery life and good power.

You didn't mention what you would be using it for.

I have both the M12 and M18 lines, some in Fuel, some not. A bit hard to tell on the practical differences. I do heavy DIY and am a part time contractor and prefer the M12 for most tasks. That 5 piece kit is a good deal if you are starting out and just need something to get the job done.

That said, I have the M12 Fuel 4 in 1 Driver and M12 hydraulic Fuel Surge Impact, both are the reason I got into the M12 line and IMO the best in class overall performance for that size. Zero issues with battery life and both are a joy to use (if you can get over the on top mounted direction selection on the 4 in 1).

The only disappointing Milwaukee tools I have bought were there M12 screwdriver (wanted something small and light for my wife, the rpms is too low for me), and the first gen M18 Brad nailer that hates firing consistently. The second gen works though.

TL;DR So if you can spend more on the better tools you will use a lot, I would do that. If budget is a big factor, then get the non Fuel version. IMO I would ignore the Fuel kits as they are more geared around mechanics (with rachets and impact wrenches) and likely not what you want.

The two 2.0 AH Ryobi batteries are a very good deal. They rarely go on sale.
