It was originally just going to be a VN which isn't a game IMO. They added the tacked on "rts" later but it is just a bunch of dots on a screen. Easily VW's worst and most overrated game to date. Wish their older stuff would get a PC port instead.

It's largely a Visual Novel with a very crazy story. I personally feel like the story was excellent. It's broken up into chapters for each main character and you can mostly pick the order you want to experience it in.

This leads to lots of interesting questions that get answered later as you play someone else's story. It mashes up a bunch of sci-fi stuff but makes it all very original and sticks the landing.

Outside of the VN, you are controlling mechs on a battlefield to fend off hundreds of machines. The battles are actually pretty well done but it isn't like a third person shooter. It's more of a RTS.

I personally loved the game but know it isn't for everyone. If you love sci-fi and are interested in just seeing the main beats of the story I'd highly recommend watching a YouTube video on it. It is bonkers but is very well thought out.

Agree. Story was super crazy. Got to the point where I couldn't play it before bed (I'm a chronic insomniac, my mind would spin).

I enjoyed the battles but they were too short and a bit easy...until...the last one. That one never got finished lol.
