For in-store, the taxes are on pre-tradein total like on $499. However, when doing trade-in online, it takes off $315 for IPhone 11 from the $499 total and only calculate taxes on the difference of $185. For in-store, they tax on $499 and then just subtract the trade-in as store credit. So, the savings are a bit less.
For any phones where the online and in-store trade-in values are same, then it's best to do online for in store pickup as opposed to going into store to make this transaction.
Hope it helps someone.

I couldn't care less about iMessage / FaceTime and other apps. But the typing (which I do a ton) is what keeps me from going to Android phones. Somehow iOS feels so much more natural.
My work gave me an SE (2020) and the keyboard doesn't pop up the character like it used to.
I am not a fan of the Samsung or Android keyboards. I am too lazy to find one that I like.
What Android apps I love are
- NOVA LAUNCHER.
You can freeze your screens so that no icons get deleted or moved.
You can backup your settings so that when you go to a new phone, just load the backup and all your icons come back to the same spot (as long as you have the same dimensions).
- CALENDAR ALARM
Integrates with Google calendar and alerts you up to 6 times with annoying alarms so that you never miss a task or meeting.
- MULTI-TIMER
I use this from cooking steaks and burgers to exercise. You can set up timers for different things, and it has a loop feature (like flipping steaks, etc). Also, you can backup your timers file and move them or share them with family/friends.
iOS is more secure because the app store and phone is locked down.
Some apps may work better.
However, for my needs I care little about the phone being secure.
The apps I use work fine.
I hate the rigidity of iOS and the expense, but I guess they do hold value better. That may be a bad thing as I can get 2-yo flagship Android for >50% off.
