Looks like a decent deal for a good price - probably not great quality - but what can you expect for 15 bucks

I agree it's acceptable for $15 but an emergency radio really needs to be trustworthy.

I would go C Crane Solar or Sangean mr88? More expensive but great quality.

I totally agree with you I bought several radios over the years from c-crane in Fortuna, Northern California

but I don't think C Crane is going to send you an empty box shipped for $15

Yeah, the CCrane Solar is 100 bucks. The Sangean is a solid choice for half the cash...

Will give it a try, the picture is kind of misleading, it's showing AAA battery capability but I don't see it in the description. Hope it uses 18650 battery so I can swap out for a better one.

Does anyone else remember when Newegg was running those damn FAR Emerson radios like every other week? Eventually I had so many of them it wasn't even worth the effort.

guys guys guys...get the bayjin spring crank portable radios (like a watch you wind it up then it has electricity)

the battery ones will fail at some point even if you've never used it before, could be dead radio when you really need it

whereas this Vondior has a battery inside, a spring-crank radio is powered by first winding it up to store energy, then let it spin out as it gives you power. which is why I said, it's just lk ea wind up or automatic windup watch. bc those watches don't have electric batteries either.

eventually a battery dies even if not used. the best emergency radios do not have traditional electric batteries. Now the beyjin if kept out of the sun which makes things brittle, if it's not getting submerged in water or subjected ot to rain, etc, then it will be running 50 years from now. And that is not the case with the radio in this thread.
