Predatory products?!? You need to crank down the drama there my Seinfeld fandom friend.

In fact, show us a better deal on an Alder Lake pre-built.
Would be almost impossible to build this system at this price if you consider the DDR5 RAM and compatible motherboard. I would buy this if I did not just build my son a system for about the same price a few weeks ago. I threw a list together from PC Part Picker using pretty much the lowest priced options for each part and it comes up to $1200. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/lin...iew=DhcgnQ

The system I built is: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/lin...iew=KdV2xr
It runs and looks great, but I would take the Lenovo over this in a heartbeat.

Only thing that I dont like is the storage configuration. Would rather just see 1TB SSD instead of the 256/1TB 7200RPM config. But that is easy enough to correct down the line.

Pretty good value for prebuilt. TU

It would cost a bit over $1000 to build this with parts.

Video card prices still have room to drop though.

There was another one for $1000 open box, $1100 new, but it was more ymmv yesterday with a better cpu/hd combo - i7 and 1tb hdd + 512 SSD

but the one you linked is 11th gen CPU. The OP has the latest 12th Gen CPU. I heard 12th gen is a big jump over 11th.

The Asus ROG system for $1100 has little better CPU since its i7 and this one is i5. But the performance is not huge since the i7 is 11tth gen and his is 12th gen. If cores matters much the i7 does have 2 more cores.
Asus has larger SSD too.

Kidna deends on what you want and if you wanna spend $100 more for it. Either are decent buys.

yeah from the benchmarks even though its an older i7 the newer i5s are on par with it, there's barely any difference in the benchmarks. The difference would be the SSD and HD then.

Seems like Lenovo cheapened out on the cooling for the base model. According to IRISHIV's review posted on Lenovo's website, Part Number: 90SU0000US only has one (1) RGB rear fan and a basic CPU cooler. There are no front intake fans or VRM heatsinks. Before, the base models sold at Lenovo's website had a tower CPU cooler, one (1) rear fan, two (2) front fans, and VRM heatsinks.

You are totally right

I had not noticed that its DDR5.
My price estimate was based on just DDR4

Odd combo of ddr5 and cpu. Also note that the cooling for this is inadequate

Unfortunately dd5 in this case makes no sense. So it's just paying more for no real benefit.

I think ppl must be going off the inflated pricing of prebuilts while we were in the gpu shortage. They were priced high then as they were one of the only ways to get gpu's during the shortage. They almost always have compromises that are not recommendable via cheap mobo, slow RAM, low quality PSUs, mismatched cpu/gpu. Pricing has not reflected the easing of the shortage and decreased prices.

This system should not cost over 1k. The ddr5 option is only increasing costs as it does NOT offer adequate performance for the cost. It is there for suckers....sorry for that, but it is the truth. You'd need a better mobo and faster gpu for it to make any difference.

This is a deals website. We should NOT promote predatory products that take advantage of those who are not in the know.

Trying to figure out if this has an open m.2 slot so I can add an ssd and if a 3060 can average over 30 fps in 4k for most games.

Most mobos have at least 2 M.2 slots, I'd say yes for this one.
