Good price but one of the worst cooling setups this gen (I had a 3070 version of this). I'd take the EVGA Best Buy deal for $809 over this

Newegg has been selling this model at this price with rebate + instant rebate all week. Since they haven't sold out, it just shows that people are sitting on their hands waiting for prices to fall further. I like that this is the 12gb version, but it's the lowest tier 3080 that doesn't OC well and has mediocre cooling. Good deal if you need one this instant and don't overclock. (keeping in mind ones that overclock can get an extra 7-10% FPS which gets you near the 3080 Ti performance.

I bought a 12 GB 3080 for $1050 a month ago and thought it was a deal. This price cratering is nuts! Great card, the 12 GB version is faster than the 10 GB 3080's, it's like half way between those and a 3080 Ti.

Sounds like all MSI series have similar RAM cooling issue if you do OC.

I have this card and the cooling is good, you just have to flash the cool bios (I think they call it performance) over the quiet bios, both available from MSI website as of the last time I checked a year and a half ago. Quiet one is alarmingly hot so I am not surprised to see these comments
