If you look at the linked video in my previous post for the disassembly and parts upgrade, this 2022 model, TE02 series looks completely different and bigger than the 2021 model (TE01). This looks like a slightly redesigned HP Omen 25L Desktop which mostly uses standard components like ATX motherboard and Power supply. The CPU Cooler height is also bigger compared to the last year model.

Also, after doing some digging, I am finally able to found out the exact motherboard detail and that is a good news because it is using standard uATX form factor. The Bios SSID is 894B and from their, I was able to found the details:

Why don't you share the link so that we can compare the features of those two?

Legit concern: the YT video shows about 1" left of space between the (assuming 3060) stock card and the front of the unit, due to the placement of a hard drive cage right there. If that were removed, you'd have a bit more room for longer cards.

That said, without knowing the specs of the 3060 unit in use, it's hard to compare and know what would and wouldn't work. But based on the fact you can spec this with a 3070Ti, it's clear at least HP's version of that would work...

The single HDMI output on that was a dealbreaker for me

i5-12400 is a better processor!
Maybe, but I'm going from a 5 year old AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core, so I should see significant improvement.

$900 for a GTX 1660 Super and you found that better!!! Best of luck. In fact, there is a deal of the same model from HP site, with same cpu but with a RTX 3060 at almost same price.

I have an extra 1TB Samsung Evo 2.5 Sata III lying around. Could I use the extra Hard Drive slot to add it in for additional memory?

Also, what would you recommend purchasing if you wanted additional cooling options?

A $300 CPU, a $300 video card, 32GB memory, 512 SSD and windows 11 seems like a good deal to me. Especially with Costco's extended warranty and return policy.

I have a love/hate thing for these PC deals, lol. I'll read the comments and see "nice/ great deal" and also "rip off, I build better". Being a complete noob on what are good gaming PC specs, it's hard to pull the trigger for me. Will a better deal come around? Will this double in price if another wave of C19 hits? Is it worth the investment now? What if it sells out before I finally decide to get it? Impulse buy/buyers regret later? Maybe some of these comments are false/true info? 😞
The specs on this are pretty good sans the 8gb ram, the cooling, and I guess an argument about storage could be made.

So in a glance overview: (for gaming purposes)
CPU....Intel 12th gen or AMD 5xxx series Ryzen
Cooler....even a $15 aftermarket cooler will trounce the stock one, if it comes with one
Mobo...One with the features you want that pairs well with cpu of choice...b660 and b550 are good balances
RAM....16GB 3200 cl 16, 3600 cl 18..... or above, 3600 cl 16 is p/p
GPU....Depends on what games you play.....Use rx 6600 @$300 as p/p metric
Storage...M.2 nvme OS drive pci 3.0 or 4.0 (dram)......tbh I would just get a 1TB OS drive.....other storage ( HDD are basically dead unless going >4TB) 1-2TB SSD
PSU....needs to be appropriate for CPU and GPU wattage reqs. Reliability (review) is more important than efficiency(the 80+ rating) check OEM
Case... up to you, just match case size to mobo compatibility. It doesn't matter too much until you start getting into higher ends parts that dump a lot of heat
Fans....super hard to beat Artics 5 pack p12 pwm for $30

As for the future...who knows......we had a mix of so many bad factors effecting the market, some of which have gone (mining, tariffs), some of which remain (covid, war). Ppl will comment when the tides change for the good or the bad....atm we are getting better and regular factors are weighted more (next gen releases, competition, regular demand)

Dude, you're not building a Desktop, you're buying a Pre-Built Desktop. So, keep your logic of comparing a Pre-Built with part price and calling it a good deal, to yourself. There are plenty of deals at similar price or slightly higher price (less than $100), offering significantly better hardware, especially in CPU and Graphics card department. You can brag as much as you want about that 32GB Ram but that's not gonna give you better performance over a better CPU and GPU combo. with
May be you should spend more time looking for a Pre-Built deal rather than comparing

Here are some examples:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15801973-hp-envy-desktop-i5-12400-rtx-3060-ti-8gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-thunderbolt-4-999-w-sd-cashback-free-s-h?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp...tbundle-pc @ $950 with Coupon 5MDSHP. This is the exact same series you're referring but coming with far better everything.

I haven't built and order with HP before, just a quick question.
If you decide to return their product, do they charge you 15% restocking fee?

I placed this order for my nephew, he now prefers a laptop instead. I contacted HP customer support and they couldn't help since it past 1 hr timeframe. They said I can initiate a return process after I receive the product, but I will have to pay 15% restocking fee.

I prefer the Costco warranty and return policy. I'm, not a big gamer so it meets my needs better. To each his own.

You should be able to ask for a cancellation request. They won't process it right away and will most likely take a week and luck but still better than trying to return.

This is the exact reason I refuse to order directly from hp. Keep contacting them to cancel or refuse the shipment. Do not try a return otherwise they will do the 15% restocking fee. Sorry that you have to got brought this hassle before even getting it.

Yes. HP is horrible r/g their return policy.
It's a nice deal which I would keep if I was in need of a desktop.
