This is true.

However, for $500 you're getting a really weak gaming PC with tiny 256gb of storage. An Xbox Series X makes a lot more sense from a gaming-only perspective. Especially since this thing isn't going to have much for upgrade options with a proprietary 400 watt PSU and motherboard.

They also have an option for the 1650 super for actually -$10 less.

1650 is a bit better performance overall than RX5500

I just had one of the prebuilts like this die on me, it was about 6 months old. It came with a 3060 that a shucked and sold to a miner so I'm not sure I could have gotten any warranty support.

I was able to move the guts/cpu onto a new motherboard, and I already had an extra case and power supply so it was just the mobo cost.

So be warned again, the motherboard, case, and power supply are non standard.

Did it die on you after you removed and sold the GPU, as in you were using the computer with the integrated graphics and CPU?

You are correct. I was using with just the integrated graphics, and it was working great. I put a Minecraft and valheim server on it. But eventually once a week it would just become unresponsive and the screen would go blank, I'd have to unplug it and then plug it back in. Then one day it just stopped working. But swapping to the new motherboard everything is running smooth again. Not sure which it was, PSU or motherboard, that was causing problems.

So this is a better deal for $50 more?

Definitely not. That GPU only has 2GB of VRAM. You won't be playing any modern games on it. Out of the ones talked about on here, the best deal would be the one with the 1650 Super for $10 less than the OP. It's still a low end gaming rig, but it should play a majority of modern games at 1080p medium to high settings, or 1440p lower settings. A Series X or PS5 is a much better deal if it's just for gaming, but they can only game, of course.

And only two DRAM slots, this is a dealbreaker for me, appears to be the case for all the HP systems recently posted.

Watch out for these machine's. You can't upgrade the mother board case and power supply with off the self parts unless you purchase directly from HP. These are OEM and junk. This is not a good deal they had cheaper a while ago.

Anyone know how you can add another m.2 drive to these computers for gaming?

One m.2 slot only. You can add an x1 m.2 card for 900 Mbps and/or a couple SATA drive.
