Costco ends your membership at the end of the month regardless of when the membership was activated in that month.

It's totally worth it if you really use Samsclub for couple of times a month or even couple of hundred dollar worth items on one single shopping.
I have both…. And can definitely say Costco is solid gold.
If you never used Costco before and skeptical…ask any family or friends to get you a Costco Shop card worth 50 or 100 $
And
That way you don't need to buy membership to check out the Costco.
Go on a Saturday noon… and check it out and added bonus check out the different Free food samples.

UPDATE got this from a costco manager;
Memo I got in my warehouse says
"For new members and memberships that expired prior to January 1 2022."
so confirmed that prior members who expire
in 2021 can get membership "reactivation"
using this Groupon/LS offer.
