I noticed is always activate your Costco membership in the beginning of the month to get the entire month. Something to remember.

Costco ends your membership at the end of the month regardless of when the membership was activated in that month.

I tried this once asking to create the new account under my name instead of my brother's. The employee totally ignored me and just renewed my brother's account. Never got the coupons or shop card

I assume Costco is similar but the Sam's I go to is literally 50 cents cheaper for premium than other stations. That's worth me sitting there for 10 minutes waiting to fill up.

Can someone clarify if I can get the new membership for my wife using this deal? My current membership expires this week (which I am not going to renew). Since there is a mention that it should be a new member or those whose memberships expired before Jan 1 that includes primary and household.

Try changing your IP address. If you on wifi try using cellular data or vice versa.

I have a Costco on the way to work so I normally stop by at 5:30 (I start work at 6) and there is hardly any line. You do not want to go to Costco after 4pm to get gas. Best to go early on weekdays.

Costco will allow you to use it regardless of when your membership expired.

Mine expired last month and used this to start it up again and they have no problem using this.

YMMV but they want your business, especially since YOY they have lost 30% of members since 2016

If you go at odd times, the wait is not nearly as long.

Don't go at quitting time for instance 4-6PM

Of course if you go to the cheapest price in your area, the wait will always be longer.

i see that we have to sign up for auto renewal in order to get the $40 costco card. how do we set that up? is it at the costco membership counter, or is it by setting up a costco account online? Also, can we use any card to purchase this deal at groupon (say a mastercard), or does it have to be the same visa card that we are going to set for auto renewal?
