The price difference between the S22+ and S22 ($100) makes more sense now considering the only differences between the two seem to be the larger display and bigger battery. $200 was a bit much.

As it's supposed to. The original fi account manages/pays for all lines, but you'll qualify for this promotion (again) by adding another person/google account
There are several posts confirming that group plan will cause the promo to be invalidated.
I have s21 with hairline crack on camera lens on back (front screen and rest of device is in mint cond).
if i get lower trade-in, do they return your trade-in device if TIC is unacceptable or it's one way ticket and device cannot be retrieved?

edit: your scenario is specific when you try to join someone's group plan AFTER buying the phone. since the promo has already been applied to your account, you cannot make any changes to your line i.e you cannot join someone's group plan or else the promo gets invalidated.
if you do it BEFORE, then no problem.

I recently switched 5 lines to Google Fi from Mint. While the cell phone service is similar (since they're both t-mobile MVNOs), the customer service is absolute garbage. To the point that I can't wait for the 4 months to be up to never come back again.
To give one example, we ordered 5 s22 phones. When we tried to port my wife's number to the phone, somehow it got attached to my Google Fi account (so, all the apps, etc thought it was my phone). Because of this, I could no longer port my phone number to Google Fi because my Fi account was already attached to a number. It took two different CS agents literally THREE HOURS to port my number to my wife's Google Fi account.
Then, they spent 30 minutes trying to swap the phone numbers between the two accounts, but it didn't work. So, the CS agent opened a ticket and said that this has been escalated to the "engineering department", who are the only people who can fix this. When I asked them what are the hours for the engineering department, how long an issue like this typically takes to resolve, do they have any way of being contacted, how will they communicate if/when they've successfully swapped the numbers... they literally kept repeating that it's a different department so they do not know any of those answers, and that they, too, have no way of communicating with the department other than to open a ticket.
Since we opened 5 lines, we saved $2500. I would gladly give all of that back to get out of Google Fi. The only reason I didn't return everything is because I can't trust they won't screw up the return.
In our 4 days of having Google Fi, we've had other issues, too, but I think the above story is sufficient.
tl;dr
The service will work as well as any other t-mobile mvno. But if you ever need to use their customer service, prepare yourself for the most broken CS department in all of telecommunication.
Does anyone know if, once I receive the S22+, I can swap the SIMs and keep the old phone on Fi for the 120 days and move the S22+ to Verizon immediately? Or do I risk invalidating the deal?
Does anyone know if I can swap the SIMs between the two and immediately use the S22+ on Verizon and let my old phone ride out the 120 days on Fi? Or will that invalidate the deal?
Thanks!
