s22+ also has wifi 6e, mmwave, 35w charging, brighter display with later tech (same as iphone 13 pro). but i agree, for most people, those do not warrant $200 difference and thats why i opted for s22. now i am switching back to s22+ since $100 difference only now.

Looks like they just dropped the price of the S22 Ultra and S22+ another $100 over the previous promotion, but left the S22 at the same $500 off.

The price difference between the S22+ and S22 ($100) makes more sense now considering the only differences between the two seem to be the larger display and bigger battery. $200 was a bit much.

one thing I learned after chatting with Fi support: if you sign up for a group plan, and need to switch between Simply Unlimited and Unlimited Plus, the group must switch as a whole, and it's not possible to change one line only.

This is a negative if you have a family of 4 in Simply Unlimited and one family member needs to travel outside USA, Canada and Mexico and wants to use Fi: you cannot switch to Unlimited Plus for the traveller only.

Another detail: switching up from Simply Unlimited to Unlimited Plus is instant, while reverting to Simply Unlimited will happen at the next billing cycle.

Hope this is helpful to some of us.

Did you ask if this plan requires a standalone line OR if one can move to a group plan after signing up (without forfeiting the promo) ?

No, you can't use the SIM with any other phone. You have to either use it in your S22 or just don't use the SIM at all, but keep the plan active.

Are these models on the Cricket Wireless whitelist (SM-S901U1, SM-S906U1, SM-S908U1)? I would like to get the S22+ throw the FI sim in a drawer, pay for 4 months while using the S22+ on Cricket Wireless.

If not, you could just port in a Google Voice number or another number, and keep your real number on your iPhone.

Can someone tell me to port a Google voice number to Google Fi? I am not good at this so if you can explain step by step ?. From the threat I read above, I have to pay $10 to port the google voice, Who I am paying for? I already had google voice number that I used it for home phone. Thank you.

You have to unlock it for $3. In your google voice account, it's under settings.


All you need is the phone number (which also happens to be the account number).

Is there a way to still use google voice for voicemails after I ported my Verizon # to google fi? It seems like I'm not getting voicemails on my google voice when the # I ported over is still linked to my google voice acct.
