The issue of whether or not the Fi SIM needs to be active for 120 days has nothing to do with your preference between iPhone and Android.
Yes it does. If it's already a hassle for me to switch between iPhone 12 to S22 just because of the fingerprint. Additional hassle for keep keeping the FI SIM or the risk without it breaks the deals for me.

The problem is that there seems to be individuals believing that they are smarter than others in which they can interpret the promotion terms better than others. These people are simply stating their interpretations rather than their actual experience (and some of us took it as facts). Truth is that we can interpret the terms both ways when it comes to "keeping the phone active" on Google Fi -- notice that it simply mentioned the phone as opposed to the service so it's hard to tell if Google Fi can void the promotion and billed you $600 by querying your phone's service history (something very easy to do if they decide to screw you over. You can argue and fight with them all you want but it's probably not worth the effort).

I tend to believe we could simply remove the sim as we do know Google FI indeed continue the countdown after we remove the sim. But I am not 100% confident that Google FI won't come back to charge us the $600 sometime between the 121st and the 150th day. And for this reason, I will probably return it because it's a big hassle for me to migrate all the iPhone apps to Android. I have lots of security related apps and I get used to iPhone although I really hate the fact that iPhone doesn't take fingerprints.

On the other hand, I am wonder it's safer to active TMobile on esim so that that the S22 would be active on Google FI at times which I can't see that would violate the promotion terms - but I could be wrong. I just don't like how the promotion terms are worded and how people complaining about getting billed after the 120-days period.

It would be nice to hear if someone can confirm that they have gotten thru the promotion successfully by using dual sims.
first things first.. your post is not in line with your username. now, use a good credit card and think like a lawman. have they defined "active"? if not, then its subjective. make a call/text when you get the phone, then make one around 120 days (and in-between if you feel like switching sims momentarily). ofcourse, IF you can get the esim working for other carrier, that would be great. text from fi to other line whenever you are bored and you should be fine. Yes, in the past folks have taken out fi sim and given the phone away and promo came thru. Is there some risk? sure. Fi may out-of-the-blue test the "activeness" on day 120. What if your device broke and is pending "repairs"? does it say anywhere promo is void then? i am not aware. i wouldnt test it by putting Fi sim in another phone (not at least until promo is over) but worst case scenario, use your CC chargeback and have them prove whatever they claim you violated. if you are not playing by rules i.e. not keeping fi sim/phone together, you have to assume some risk. use common sense steps and we should be fine.

The S22 Ultra will support dual Sim cards though. Leave Fi sim card in place and put other Sim card on back side. Anybody try this? I want to keep Tmobile.

So have Google Fi with physical Sim and other {Tmobile} as an Esim or put a physical card on backside of Sim card holder.

What specifically did you ask them? They're probably talking about Google Fi supporting eSIM on S22 ultra, which they don't. The S22 series have eSIM capability but the carrier needs to support it.

Every place I have read it is dual sim capable......Hmmmmm will try later.

Alongside a powerful processor and excellent displays, another exciting feature of the Galaxy S22 is dual SIM support
