Just be warned, this SmartAC program requires you to give away control of your thermostat. May literally be a hot deal when it's 92 out and they crank your AC up to 85 or even turn it off. Just make sure you know what you're getting into

Just read the T&C's. Can confirm.

What a disaster that'd be. Expect to never have your house be set lower than 85.

How bout it. They're gonna give away some $100 thermostats and in return turn everyone's AC off. What a terrible idea for anyone to get involved in

If they set your thermostat to 85, can't you just disconnect it from WiFi and gain local control?

Kinda inconvenient but it only gets down to 40-50 at night in the winter.

This is absolutely true, along with the horrible google home app, and the even worse location control, you will really enjoy going to get the mail or something and seeing your AC jump from 70 to 85, and then struggle forever to cool itself back down. This is by far one of the stupidest and worst designed products I have ever owned. This pile isn't worth it even if they pay you to take it. STAY AWAY TRUST ME. Smart by name does not indicate smart by design.
