My guess is they're just clearing excess stock of the watch and phone. The Flip3 was announced/released in August of 2021 and there are a ton of rumors pointing to the Google Watch being released in the next couple months.

Please people, be more specific with your questions! While inventory is regional, I see all 4 carrier options, as well as unlocked, available for delivery. DId you mean in stock in store?
Are you a TMO customer already? if so, much easier to go that route, even if ship to store, vs. opening a VZW account just to order and cancel the account, and then have to deal with possible problem with unlocking it for TMO. But again, without full details of your situation, and end goals, hard to say. . .
If you are a TMO customer, I would focus on TMO aspect. Really with this deal is you want to get the watch to you as fast as possible (pickup this morning being the best) or at least shipped asap, the phone part is secondary. . .

I'll share a trick I used the last time this phone was offered with free Galaxy buds. I got more Galaxy buds than I knew what do do with and maybe it can be replicated here.
What I did is I got a number from number barn and then added the phone and the galaxy buds to the cart. The buds had a price of $0 when doing this. Now, when checking out I selected AT&T and that I wanted to port a number. The purchase went trough and I received the buds a few days later but since I did not follow up on the porting process with number barn the phone never shipped. I had to talk to a BB rep to get the order cancelled and all my money back but I kept the buds.
If you are planning to do this kind of stuff I suggest keeping it yourself. If more people follows your approach, it will kill the deal for everyone.

I had the flip 3 at launch did the BOGO offer from Costco from T-Mobile. The flip has terrible battery life and opening and closing the phone each time got tiring. Also the 128gb storage wasn't cutting it either ended up selling the phone next month. I would rather take a regular non flip galaxy over the flip 3. Also if you have an active lifestyles ride bikes or motorcycle forget about using your flip 3 for navigation it would crack in half on the mount. The watch 4 was a nice concept but to me it looks like they just brought back the Active 2 and rebranded it as Watch 4 apartment form the AW, which unfortunately didn't pair with the iPhone. The Fossil AW watches did pair with anyphone the Samsung didn't because it still needed the galaxy wear app and that app only worked with the tizen. Also I think the last gen watch was much better looking than the classic version of the watch 4. And keep in mind the battery life on watch 4 is worse than the previous gen watches I think because of the crappy AW os
So just to confirm.. activate today means I have to buy a new postpaid line? I am asking because I have 2 prepaid lines and don't mind taking a 3rd prepaid line, but definitely don't want a postpaid line as that's how they get the extra $$ from consumers.

You can upgrade that what it means. No need to add another line unless you need it. And yes, it will even work on any line with ongoing bill credits if it's T-Mobile for example

Sorry still not clear. It seems you are saying it has to be postpaid? I don't see a way to do bill credits or upgrade on prepaid.

Slower charging, battery life and camera are worse, no SD card, less memory (both RAM and internal storage)
Positives for flip3 are better processor and 5G and some people might like the flip feature
