Battery health last longer when the battery is not constantly charged to 100%. If you are not constantly on the go and need 100% of battery life all the time, it is recommended to charge up to 60-85 percent. Many laptops have this feature so that it stops charging at a preset amount. When you know you will need all of the battery life, turn the feature off and charge it to 100% only when you need to.

Looks not nearly as good as the the Costco one with the 5825u(I think only change could be the SSD, but maybe not) at 550 or 600(also cba to check, it's still on Costco AFAIK), my concerns were the small ass 41 whr battery, as well as no easy way to limit charge percentage while plugged in like Dell and Lenovo lines can, as far as I've researched, only HPs business lines have that feature. Lenovo can limit to 60% while Dell has even better flexibility.

anyone have good expirence with this laptop or HP in general
I personally like HP laptops, but options like docking stations and such seem to be a bit lacking compared to Dell. I don't need that and have 2 HP laptops chugging along after many years.

I have had my hands on two LG gram laptops (both from Costco). One has an eighth generation i7, the other has i5-1135G7. Both of them have an option to limit the battery level to 80% when plugged in. I wish that I could limit the charging level to something like 50-60%.
That's not necessary to do according to lithium ion battery tests. They found reducing Max charge from 100% to 80%, could double the battery's life, but there were vastly diminishing returns from there.

I have several friends who have loved their HPs and had zero issues. I have purchased two and got a lemon each time. But, HP allowed a return with zero hassle or expense so no complaints. I don't recommend HP but I don't discourage people from them either. Every company has an occasional lemon go out the door.

For the right price, I would try HP again.

I had a bad experience with them. First the drive failed on the laptop, they sent a replacement and charged me for OS.

I use the pavilion 15 with the ryzen 5 5700u for over year now. Zero issue. It's one of the best combination in term of having hdmi 2.0, usbc with Displayport and power delivery, ram upgradable to 64GB and backlit keyboard.

I would pay $10 to get fog blue color and backlit keys. You will see the backlit keys with dark fog blue much better than silver backlit keys

Also consider paying $15 more for the upgrade wifi 6 and BT 5

Yes, you have to do it yourself by cloning everything on the 512gb included ssd over to a new 1TB ssd. there is only one nvme slot in this laptop
