Spent several years as a finished carpenter. Never nailed baseboards with a 16gauge gun. Also shooting 9/16-3/4" trim into drywall (1/2"). The math works for 2" 18ga nails. If you're having holding problems you're missing the studs and/or bottom plate. Anyone can shoot a nail gun, takes some experience to know where to hit wood.

Edit: But I agree with everything else you said.

I have absolutely nothing against directtoolsoutlet, I love them to pieces as they are the only store that'll sell reconditioned with warranty BUT i think they are either overwhelmed with orders or something is up because I placed an order on the 5th of may and i got the email saying it shipped about an hour ago, just a word of caution, buy from there but not if you're in a hurry.

Same here. Ordered on the 5th too. They're still recovering from the 40% off sale

I think that depends on the item you ordered. I also ordered something from them on the 5th and received it on the 10th.

And the 50% off recon sale the week before that. I still have orders from both sales that are waiting to ship.

They probably are trying to get rid of the p325, to make inventory space for the p326. Both should be like 30$ off on hd. Said that, foe the price, this is a steal

Looking to do redo window trims and baseboards. Which one is better? This or 18 gauge?

yeah, i can see how it might be confusing with just ryobi in the title... because ryobi is so well known for their air tools! what's the matter with you, man? when was the last time you saw a ryobi tool that wasn't one+?
I have plenty of corded and 40v ryobi tools

This is an excellent entry level cordless nailer for softer woods (eg pine, cedar, etc) but it inconsistent for hardwoods like oak or maple. Still a great deal at this price. I wish 16g angled nails were as cheap as 16g straight nails that these take

For window trim and baseboards, the 18ga is better, as it will provide sufficient hold and leave a smaller hole to fill/caulk after.

18ga can go up to 2"

16ga up to 2-1/2"

If you're doing the window/door jams or extensions 16ga is better but 18ga can work.

They have a newer model of this nailgun, at least the packaging had a newer model number at HD. This was clearanced out of my stores at about the same price several months ago

I'm in the same boat, my order from the 7th is still processing. But a previous order, a miter saw, was damaged in shipment by fedex, they were out of stock when they went to re-ship so they cancelled but said I could re-order if it came in stock and they'd price match and refund shipping. It came in stock on the 21st and they shipped it the next day and it will be here today or tomorrow(still have to call and request the refund, hope it goes ok). So it seems they may be shipping out new orders quick and just slowly going through our backlog of orders from weeks ago.
