I think you are referencing the WD Green at 100 TBW Endurance, this Inland drive can theoretically have 18x more TB written to it. Also, this Inland drive has roughly 56% greater read speed and 43% faster write speed. I cannot speak to the value/performance of this drive but it would be a better boot drive, but it is also 1TB vs 2TB of the WD Green.

It'll work. The specs are kind of low and it'll probably be a little slower than the internal drive but it might not be noticeable. You'll have to get a heatsink too.

There will be zero difference. I have a WD Black SN750 SE with a speed of 3600 and there isn't any difference, whatsoever, compared to the stock SSD. I got that for $75 for 1TB. There have been tons of tests on these things and not a single game uses the full bandwidth of SSDs yet.

Even SSDs with a speed of 3200 only sometimes loaded one second slower than the stock one. It will be a long time before games really start needing more speed. Even the people who use ones with speeds of 7000 only load games 1 or 2 seconds faster than the stock one.

It's a software thing, rather than hardware. It's like how the PS5 is obviously powerful enough to run every PS4 game at 60fps, but it runs almost all of them at 30fps, still, because the games haven't been patched.

It has extremely high endurance (TBW) for the price, and is also very fast.

Would a motherboard's provided heatsink be sufficient in keeping it cool? Mine's the X570 Crosshair Hero/WiFi.

It sounds like an in-depth test.
The marked speed, and the actual performance of the implementation of the compromise is there
But only by one second. So it looks like only gen4 and warranty are needed.

Yeah. At the moment, you don't get any benefit from using the faster SSDs with the PS5. It's silly, to me, that Sony recommends a speed of 5500. So many people have been duped out of so much more money by following that recommendation, when SSDs with speeds of 3200 only take 1 or 2 seconds longer to load.

I'd be pissed if I was one of the people who paid $200+ for something with 5500 or more, before tests started coming out showing that you don't need that speed. I honestly believe we're a full console generation away from needing SSDs with speeds like that.

I was planning to buy the 1 TB Samsung 980 Pro for a new build. How does this compare to that?

Thanks!
