- A 5000K (daylight) color temperature does not make a bulb brighter, just colder and blue.
- 5000K lighting has been proven to affect sleep cycles, just like the blue light from your phone.

2700K = filament bulb temperature, almost orange glow, very warm.
3000K = standard incandescent temperature. Warm with some yellow. Makes homes feel cozy, warm, think incandescent Christmas lights.
3500K = less yellow, but still warm. Makes most paint colors look good. A great choice of compromise between not too yellow and not blue.
4000K = Very neutral, natural light. very little noticeable yellow, but not very blue. Can come across a little cold depending on paint and other finish choices. I consider 4000K the color temperature people actually want when they decide to purchase daylight bulbs, because of the more natural color.
5000K = Psychopath. Cold. Blue. Makes people physically ill from the sight of this temperature bulb used in flood lights and exterior home lighting. My neighbors have installed these bulbs in their entire home, exterior and interior. They're very nice people, but we haven't found the bodies yet. Please don't use daylight bulbs in your home. Thank you.
Non-dimmable [amazon.com] are a little cheaper at $14.53 ($0.58 / Count).
Forget the reviews, as they are completely intermixed from a dozen or so options, but I might pay attention to the flicker/strobing associated with the dimmable OP version. This can be caused from several reasons, but typically the wrong dimmer switch and not the bulb. Some dimmer switches will not cause flickering as long as you don't drop much below 50% dimming. Others strobe all the time.
The cost of a one way LED dimmer switch is not bad, but a three or four way switch set can get expensive and may or may not solve the problem. To make it more complicated, some LED bulb manufactures recommend a specific dimmer switch for their bulb. Sometimes it is in the wiring, such as someplace in the circuit the return may have been used to break power feeding some other light, fan, etc. You know this is probably taking place when say, an adjacent Florescent fixture is flickering after being turned off, etc. But typically, you will have to chase continuity with the power off and for sure, something is going to need rewired to make the connecting LED light circuit dimmable.
Just got these in this morning and measured 3870K and about 670 lumen.
Made in China, not sure about longevity, but the Kelvin is about perfect for working and reading under. Thinking about buying some more as gifts.
