I have this.... it works alright and is pretty light. If you ever take the tank out it can't be upright in any wind, also the top cap is super flimsy and bends, in fact all the metal is very thin and subject to bending.

Just going to let you know. You need to baby this thing. If it's a windy area, don't get it. Mine has a pretty good gangster lean going on where the base meets the pole. Same model. You're going to need to support it with something at the top of the base of you expect it to last a couple seasons. Mine is going on season 2 and might not make it. No regrets even though I got it on sale for a little over 100.

Any chance this can run directly on natural gas? I hear it will be top heavy but already have NG run to my deck and not trying to start buying tanks

Directly as in no modification, no. With different hose fittings and a re-jetting, should work.

How is this? Little bit more...but seems like marked down a lot. Any good - sturdy for the SF bay area winds?

Good question, I'm also looking for something that'd last more. That specific one is being shipped and sold by a 4-star seller so… I'm not so sure.

I'm going to be the odd naysayer here, but burning natural gas to keep warm in an open area is frivolous as heck.

once these things tip and fall over, the top is like aluminum foil. It will be bent out of shape and will never be the same ever again. Like a virgin

Yes. I have the cool looking one, it's definitely 60% looks. These havr bigger heating cupolas and are way more efficient since they shoot the propanrle up to the top where it is used vs the pretty ones relying on an actual flame building inside the glass tube to heat up the top.
