How long until phone is unlocked?

Turns out it's 6 months for the phone to be unlocked. I'll pass.

These deals are useless unless you have a corporate store nearby.

Metro is a dirtball company. They hire scammy people who are trained to try shady stuff all of the time. Even the corporate stores have become shady. Stay away from these scammers and give your money to a more reputable company rather than these POS losers.

If NYTurbo was currently working, I might consider getting this then doing an unofficial lock through them... but even still, this is a phone that came out almost 3 years ago. Not sure the value is there.
It is not..NY Turbo sim stopped working as of 05.03..

Authorized dealers are a hit or miss. Mostly misses but there have been few success stories here.

Corporate is ideal though. Anyone that has a corporate store nearby should definitely give it a try.
True, and corporate are willing/able to drop down the plan too. I had one corp store toss in a free case because I asked.

Yeah thanks, that's why I said if... But either way, it's a three year old phone that apparently doesn't have a physical tactile/pressable home button. My interest in Apple has soured since the whole phone slow down thing with the OS updates, among other reasons

Is Metro phones still getting unlocked automatically after 6 months even not in active plans?? Anyone knows?
They still unlock. My Samsung A32 unlocked last month. Paid only for 1month service. If you're not interested in remaining with Metro (their prices and service aren't bad) then you have to be like something who works to plant a lot of bulbs in the fall and won't see the fruit of your labor till spring. I have an iPhone 12 mini and I like the 11 better despite the lack of 5g.

If you are firm, do they typically budge?
Or would they rather lose a sale if they can't tag all these BS charges onto the bill?
This is a case by case scenario. Some will budge while others will be very persistent and outright refuse to give you a deal if you don't budge.

This is why authorized sellers aren't recommended because it's totally random. It doesn't hurt to try, but don't go in with any expectation. That said, most people with some prior knowledge about the phones and deals seem to get the better result since authorized sellers know that they can't really dupe you.

You can trade in with Apple towards a newer phone within that time. Apple offers $320 for the iPhone 11.

I might take advantage of this.
$100 iPhone
$40 Plan

Old phone activated with Tracfone $15 (With autopay)

End of the day roughly $160ish is spent (Taxes & fees) just to trade it in to Apple for a $320 discount towards a newer phone.

Would I be able to successfully trade in this phone to TMobile if I leave Metro after just one month (especially, since Metro is owned by TMO)?
Yes, you can since the phone is already paid off.

Make a deal with these devils, and ask if they can waive the activation fee if you add insurance on each line. Once you get home, cancel the insurance plans on each line and you'll get a prorated refund for the insurance plans.

Apple gives $320 only if you're buying new one from them, if you want to do their "gift card" instead it's $255 (it seems they slashed their trade in values and then week later made the "special offer" that boosts them back😂 now that's some "geniuses" at work in marketing for sure).
