also note...many times M reps will make up rules...

if it sounds odd...its probably made up
Like I said the rep showed me in the system on their end and I used to work in phone sales so I know what I read.

I was there on October 23, 2022 for the data point. I gain nothing from lying and it was just my experience at one corporate store. Take the data point how you want.

Metro stores, even corporate ones, make up their own rules. They rather not sell you phone if you don't select the higher priced plans, add insurance, activation fees, etc.

no one us accusing u of lying.
as i said, the reps will make up whatever rules they want.

my understanding is there are 2 $40 plans.
if u try for the regular plans, the $40 will not qualify.
u will need the $60 plan.

if u get the "special $40 plan with port in" it will qualify.

Maybe the rep played a game with me but he showed me trying to add the $40 plan and it would take off the port in deal. I don't work there but the rep seemed honest and again I saw the screens he clicking on. I didn't care an extra $20 to get the iphone 11 $400 off is worth, even though for some reason I got charged $70 (monthly) + $20 (activation). Total was under $200, so still worth.

Which is why Metro doesn't offer these "deals" online.

Na he asked about insurance I said no, then told me the total. During the checkout, he showed me the $40 plan not working. I think the $60 would have worked but again I didn't care.

Would be convenient if it was available for online ordering instead of going to the stores only to see that they don't have the iPhone in stock in store.

BTW, they don't let you leave the store till the port is complete. You pay first, so you are stuck there if there are any porting issues. I ran into a snag porting from Tracfone. Had to call Tracfone a couple of times to get the issue resolved. Was a bit of a headache, but walked out with two iPhone 11s for $348 total. Traded one in the same day towards a Pixel 7 order that was ready for pickup. Keeping one for a future trade in deal.

The $60 plan ($90 for two lines) comes with free Amazon prime, but to use it, you need to not have Amazon prime already, so the only way is to let your current prime membership expire. That made it useless for me.

Also comes with 100gb Google One membership. Haven't activated that yet.

I was able to activate an old Unlocked Note 10+ on the line of the iPhone 11 I traded in, and it is working just fine. At the very least, I get 1 month of free unlimited data with 15gb hotspot.

Assuming you had to call Metro to get the sim added to the Note?

It should be under the line. There is a button to change device.
