Yes, fellow Canuck. This is a global code, and I can confirm it works in Canada on a Canadian XBOX Live account.

Thank you - my ultimate expired a few days ago.

Got 3 more years for $78.89:
Obviously service must be expired first.
I bought 9 codes, made sure to change the seller to GetPlay and use the discount code.
Then had 2 tabs open on microsoft - code redemption, and recurring billing.
Every code, redeem it, let it turn on recurring billing to get a bonus month.
Then go to the other tab and cancel recurring billing. Repeat.
Finally, convert it all to ultimate.
A little cumbersome but an amazing deal.

So I'm just gonna run down real quick what I did to possibly help others,

My GPU was stuck trying to auto-renew on a dead credit card, so I logged in and formally cancelled it through Microsoft website.

I purchased 9x 3 Month XBL Codes from GetPlay using PayPal and using the discount code OP delightfully provided

I logged onto my MS account and redeemed all 9 codes, I kept having to close and open the redeem code window through the link provided by OP

I left auto-renew on with each redemption to simply get the extra month of XBL gold

Then after redeeming all 9 codes with an extra month on each one I clicked on the link in OP post to "Join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" and went through the process. It cost $15 because I already used my $1 before. It specifically prompted me that it will convert my existing XBL Gold to Game Pass Ultimate at the current 1:1 ratio.

My Game Pass Ultimate subscription will expire in May 2025, and after every thing was finished I went back into MS account and turned off recurring billing.

Thanks to OP and the other posters here for the helpful explanation. Game Pass Ultimate for $31 per year, pretty awesome deal.

I had cancelled my sub but realized after buying the codes that the sub doesn't run out for another week. Should I be able to add them then and convert them? If I shouldn't wait, Can I add them to one of the kids accounts instead? They are the ones that are actually using it anyway. Thanks

Thanks for the easy-to-follow writeup. I did this today and it worked exactly as stated above.

Thought it was kind of interesting that I lost 5 days while redeeming 9 3 month Gold subs, but once I paid $14.99 for GPU my end date moved from 5/25/25 for Gold to 5/30/25 for GPU. So I got 'em back.
I didn't make very good use of the service last time I paid for it - hopefully I'll be better this time!
Thanks OP and skinny_gator - this deal is definitely still alive.

This still worked for me. I got 3 years of Ultimate for $96.31 ($32/yr) because I already redeemed the $1 deal. Thanks OP!

I had used the $1 deal before so it cost 14.99 plus tax, I was able to buy 10 and then 2 to achieve 36 months' worth of the 3-month passes and upgraded for $3.07/month or $36.84/year. Looking back on it, I wish I would have tried the extra month subscription trick to get one month for every 3-month card. Rookie Mistake! I'm still happy about the deal!

$99.44 total for 36 months and then had a $5 MS credit to make the upgrade cost $11.07. $110.51 total for 36 months of game pass ultimate! The coupon didn't work for me but it was still a great deal! Thank you!

Followed this today, Ultimate good to 8/3/2025. Bought 9x Codes and used code "XN3" to get another $2 and some change off since the OP code was expired. Total came out to $80.71.

Yup, still working. My original GPU just expired yesterday. I just re-upped using the gold 3mo codes and converted on the $1 GPU promo (Previously used). Total $80.26 for 38 months (That $1 convert promo gives you a bonus 2mo that dont count to the 36mo prepaid max I guess). Thanks OP and all who outlined the steps on this process, great deal!
