Any recommendations on the best bang for your buck?
The cash value of 50,000 American Airlines miles is $645, on average, or the equivalent of at least one round-trip flight between New York and Los Angeles on American Airlines. AA miles are worth about 1.34 cents per mile, slightly less than average for a major airline.
That said, the value of 50,000 American Airlines miles could be significantly more or less than $645, depending on how you redeem them and when you fly.
And possibly bag fees depending on your status but at least one free .
I Don't fly AA are there free cancellations/ changes ?

Uh no. 75k Southwest is way more valuable. Pick a bunch of flights, purchase when cheap, and cancel if you change your mind. Or if the price decreases, cancel and rebook.
I do not think you can have TWO SW cards. Read the terms. In the past , it also has to be greater than 24 months from your last SW card bonus. I'd cancel now and apply toward the end of the promotion.

Yes cancel . And can only receive bonus if it's been longer than 24 months since your last bonus . Like someone else said wait until near end of promotion. 30 days from cancelling
To illustrate this point, I just cancelled a flight & saved 1k points. If you've got questions, PM me.
No need to cancel, just change flight
