Does this have aluminum construction all around? I'm hesitant to spend $350 on a Chromebook especially when there are Windows alternatives for the same (or close) price range.

All plastic, according to reviews on the site. You're probably not ever getting aluminum construction for 400 bucks, at least not at this size.

Not true staples has had sales regularly for 17" Asus with aluminum construction for under 300$
