From the reviews seems this particular model is using 2x8gb sticks but from videos it seems it is able to be upgradeable up to 128gb for 4 slots of 32.

This was $1300 6 or so months ago with the same code with the exact same specs, now for $1000 after tax and getting cheaper - it'll probably bottom out at maybe mid-$800s to high $700s. Of the prebuilt PCs lenovo legions are mid-range quality, not up to the ABS brand quality, but not as bad as some other ones.

Overall not completely bad deal, the red flag would be the cost at $1000 for a older model 512 gb SSD since 1tb SSD nvme m.2s are currently at ~1tb/$100 rate. 512gb, 100 of which is going to be windows/lenovo bloatware, so you have probably 350-400 gbs or so.
Those interest in this, HP has a comparable option with a 3060 Ti for around same price.
Ryzen 5 5600X
8GB RAM
512 SSD
3060 Ti
800w power supply
Windows 11
$907.
You would need to add RAM on the HP, but Ti is quite a bit better then the 3060.

I'm RAKing my brain for U all TEN times to come up with other clues.

Are Lenovo computers upgrade friendly? I have a dell G5 and the bios limits my ram speed and cpu speed even though it's capable of more.

Supremely helpful for the feedback. Do you have a recommendation for a ABS brand ?

I bought this one a few weeks ago and have been happy with it. But don't believe it when they say this is the best price in 30 days. Technically, it's what I paid, but, when I bought mine, they included a 24" Asus monitor with it. That deal didn't last long, though--only a few hours.

ABS is a Newegg brand, so you can browse their site for other configurations. For $300 more, they have this same system with an i7.

You're welcome. If you feel brave, you could hold out to see if the monitor deal comes back around. I saw it on a Sunday evening and immediately pulled the trigger. It was gone a couple of hours later when the monitor went OOS, so you'll want to check often.

I think I remember that deal. It was a great deal and the monitor was pretty good too. Definitely the best monitor & system deal I've seen this year. Your suggestion is also very good too, it's $1200 for a ABS and has a full 1tb ssd - which I consider it as a minimum in gaming systems nowadays since games (cod mw is 250gb, apex 70gb+, fortnite 30gb). I would have liked a 3070 instead of the 3060 at the $1300 after tax price but hopefully it'll drop to sub $1000 in the next couple of months. Personally, I'm waiting until after the 4000 series cards drop before I seriously consider the 3070ti since that's the best price for performance card rn.

As for the i7 upgrade vs the i5 in this model: If its just for gaming, you're probably not going to feel a huge performance difference between the i5-12400f vs. the i7-12700f to justify the $300 price difference. If you're planning on using more cpu intensive programs get it, but know for most of the time you're not going to use all 12 cores since most programs aren't even optimized for that. It's nice to have more cores, but whether or not it'll actually make a feasible difference is debatable.

Here are some benchmarks:

Thanks for the info.

Regarding the monitor they included (Asus TUF VG24VQ), I really like it, with one exception. It includes built-in speakers, but to say they're underwhelming gives them too much credit. Honestly, you'll get better sound quality out of a paper cup. I wasn't exactly surprised, since my experience has been that most of these setups suck, and I didn't even factor this feature into my buying decision, but I want to caution anyone who sees that it includes speakers and thinks that it'll sound good. Now one nice feature it does include is a headphone jack, so, if you plan to game while wearing headphones, you've at least got a convenient place to plug them in, provided you aren't using a headset that includes a mic. It also includes a DisplayPort cable, which was what I needed, and it also has two HDMI inputs, and I plan to use one of those, along with a USB switcher for my keyboard and mouse, so I can directly control my NAS.

Nope, definitely a 12400F. I'm sitting in front of it right now.
