Wow this is really interesting. I did not realize there was this type of "generic" Lego out there. I always thought Legos were ridiculously overpriced.

Good to know that there is a similar alternative.

These apparently are compatible with Lego. Would anyone else please kindly confirm that these sets are indeed compatible with Lego?

FYI - the Amazon reviews don't match this product. If you want more of these generic Lego, check out AliExpress. There are lot of options and I've had good luck so far. Just watch out for the delivery times (aka order well in advance).

Legos are compatible with Legos.

Legos are extremely quality controlled, knock offs aren't.

Sure, there may be a piece or two that fit together, but don't expect knock offs to have the same quality, weight, variety and locking power of real Legos.

Expect a set like this to not only be a struggle over standard Legos to assemble (pieces not fitting correctly, warping, flaws in assembled design), but also be extremely delicate once completed.

Sincerely,
Parent of a child who has recieved knock off sets for their birthday and have had to deal with the frustration/emotions of a young child not understanding why the set won't assemble correctly/won't stay together after complete.

Got this today... looks good to me. Quality seems very good... I think the knockoffs off years ago were pretty bad but I've been happy with fit and finish of a number of cheap knockoff offs ive got recently. For a kid who cares anyway, as they loose pieces almost the moment it's opened.

Nah to the thumbs down. They have no idea, you're absolutely right.

Most likely not. There are lots of knockoff brand. In order for them to not get sued, their block size is often different.

For all the people saying that the knock off ones don't fit with LEGOs, it depends (like the Walmart Ryan's World ones.) Many of the ones from AliExpress will work perfectly fine with LEGOs bricks.

Yes, LEGOs are much better quality controlled, but you're paying a premium for that, but I can say that for half the price (sometimes even less), the knock offs ones that I have purchased from AliExpress have been overall great and fully compatible with the other LEGOs that I have.

For example, the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition 76105 knock off that I got from AliExpress, the color (red and gold pieces) are slightly darker; out of the 1300+ pieces that is in that set, I only encountered 1 piece that was malformed and would not stay on. Beyond that one piece, all other pieces were tight and locked together well, and the figure has stayed together well. My Voltron 21311 set, again, the overall colors were more dull than the LEGO, but I didn't encounter any bad bricks.

So YMMV

For all the people who seem to know so much about LEGO bricks, they don't seem to know what they're actually called. Never, ever call them "Legos". https://twitter.com/lego_group/st...12?lang=en

its the same with facial tissue NOT kleenex... or even when you say "google it" instead of web search.

Thats when you know a brand has made it to the top when their name is used more than the traditional noun/action itself.
