Anker is a real brand with returns, warranty and CS. Throwing up any alphabet soup amazon brand is not really helpful. The no-name chargers have the much higher chance of literally killing you.
No...even in store it's just adapter
Good stocking stuffers. My daughter and her 12 year old son seem to eat (or lose) these things like crazy. In a 4 person household - they always seem to have just ONE CHARGER.

why do you have to be so cheap to buy this crap anker brand as well?
There are plenty of better brands.
Lol did you just create a SD account to troll Anker listings? Get a real job.

If you've set up an email alert you can still get notified even when SD deletes the post. I've snagged a few deals that way.

Isn't it up to the Macbook to decide whether or not to accept the charge and use the battery vs run directly from the outlet? Not sure how the charger would decide this but I could be wrong.
No, I believe you are right.... clearly that person does not know what they are talking about.

I purchased a cable that has a digital read out that states how much watts is going through... I have tested all my charges and when the device is full it always stops charging.

My point was about Anker is not better quality and I can provide articles of their wires frying devices and a link to the class action regarding Anker lying about their battery capacity.

RavPower was banned from Amazon along with some other manufacturers because they rewarded customers for positive reviews. This has less to do with the actual quality of their products and more about manipulating the perceived quality.
But there are brands that still sell on Amazon that did the same practice.

Point is.... there is more to the story that we will never know.

I will agree that Anker does have better customer service then most other Chinese brands. But Anker is also far from perfect. And tell me, how many people call up customer service cause they don't know how to use a charger?

If it comes broken, you send it back to the company that you purchased it from.

I did have an issue with my RavPower wireless charger, they told me to keep the product and sent me back my money... then I realized it was my error and the wireless charger did work perfectly. Point is, RavPower customer service is also pretty good.

And again, Anker has fried many devices with faulty cables and there is a class action law suit against them for claiming false battery capacity.

Faulty cables....

Class Action...

I will say that I think Anker makes some amazing audio products and their prices are hard to beat. I personally own a Q30 (paid $38), Q35 (paid $92) and Liberty 3 Pro (paid $99 and still on sale) and highly recommend Anker for headphones and earbuds if you get them on sale.

But for wires, batteries and charging plugs... I feel they do not offer the best price and there are issues... see articles above.

personally im just using the 30w ugreen pps that you can find via search. theyre probably still 10ish apiece
I looked this one up (UGREEN CD272) and it has very good specs, supporting 5/9/12/15/20V fixed and 3.3-11.0V/2.72A PPS

I have more USB chargers and USB testers than is good for me :-) Having said that, PPS support needs to be matched between the charger and the device being charged, so just saying PPS on the box isn't a guarantee of anything. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Tab draws 45W at 10V/4.5A and I have 90W USB-PD PPS capable chargers that don't support PPS at 4.5A.

I've been buying chargers with both USB-C and USB-A ports for the house and cars since we are still in a transition phase with chargers and charging cables

Thanks for the insight on the one i bought. Have replaced most of my chargers with that cd272 around the house

And then my heavy duty 2 are the anker 715 and 736

On a side note, whats your take on something like this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09N3PR...UTF8&psc=1

Is charging 100w via power bank risky? i have one that does 65w PD via power bank but it's like a brick. My laptop doesnt charge any faster than 65w anyway, but still

I guess thats like the non anker version of that 100w power house power bank thats been out for a long time

Short of OEM I still think anker is the best bet. All other "off" brands I've had weird results with.

All that being said it feels like a racket the increased cost of chargers over the years. $10 for a simple wall charger that doesn't even come with a cable is a deal these days? Come on.

A high quality compact wall charger isn't simple. Is NOT simple. Hi voltage and low voltage packed with hot electronics in 1 cubic in.

It's a simple function, but you only have to see the teardown of the Apple 5w charger to understand how overbuilt AND how much componentry needs to be used to have a safe and durable 5w charger.

Really the apple 20w charger for $19 really isn't a bad deal considering it's actually better made than the alternatives and I bet the numbers would show much better safety and reliability.

It is interesting that you link to a urlhasbeenblocked device since I have several of their chargers and cables and love their construction. I've been buying them mostly from Aliexpress but sometimes from Amazon.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with their power banks so far, having used only Xiaomi. From a technology perspective, there is no reason to be worried about risk as far as I know. Do look for a high charge rate else you will be waiting a long time for the bank to be topped up. I discovered this the hard way with my Li-Ion jump starter which had a USB-C charging input that only supported 5V.

This one has a 65W charging input.

Cables not included? I thought the ones in the stores had that included?

That was the older version. I bought mines (they were clearing out stock though) for about $13 for an 18w nano charger and a c-lightning cable

Anker has fried hundreds or maybe thousands of devices with faulty cables. Anker is also being sued for giving false battery capacity on their battery products.

Basically... stating that Anker is high quality is bullshit.

And my RavPower states on the device, "made in China and designed in California", unlike Anker's which is made in China and designed in China.
Ravpower is a SF Bay Area Company and my go to brand. I have been buying their products for almost 10 years now and they never failed. Even have few items from their sister company brands like HooToo, Taotronics. After they were banned from Amazon, I went ahead and bought few items directly from their website.
