I heard the real deal is buy 3 months at a time, then they offer you a free month to enable recurring billing. Then disable rb, rinse and repeat and you only have to buy 27 months worth to get 36.

I used the $1 gpu offer in Dec. Expired in March. It was showing 14.99 until today, 3 months later. Just got 3 months for $1 again. 😊

So seems like past subscribers need a lapse of 3 months to be eligible.

I thought this GPU conversion trick that's been available for years was just a trick MS was playing to get people who would not get GPU to think they were getting a great deal while paying $30-40/year with a 3-year commitment but it looks like they're doing a fake crackdown as well ...
