Does anyone have an idea of how to utilize this deal for a someone who rarely plays games? Maybe purchase gift cards and trade? Purchase Xbox gift card and upgrade my console? I have a PS4 and Xbox S with Xbox ultimate membership that has another year left on it.

Figures. I just cancelled my membership last week because they did a bait and switch by removing the discount on gaming gift cards last year after I had just signed up partly because of it. They used to give 15% off PSN and such and then they removed that deal. Too bad this one only lasts through June 30th.

Best Buy isn't doing too hot lately and shutting down stores plus removing stuff that doesn't sell from inventory isn't a good sign.

Too many online places with free delivery plus being able to read reviews for those purchases is better than being conned into their upselling because you don't know any better.

Thanks OP. Placed order for $75 gift card for playstation and $50 for xbox. When the games go on sale on PSN store, the gift card comes in handy. Basically, I paid $50 for $75 PSN gc and $25 for $50 for Xbox gc. This deal alone justified paying $50 for best buy membership and I just started my membership. I don't see many deals on gaming gift cards.

Is the My Best Buy program worth it? I may buy a PS5 and need games, but with this promo I'd have to sign up for $50 just to get $50 back. But I'd have the my best buy program the rest of the year. but the $50 rewards has to be spent within 30 days and can't be used on gift cards.

So you broke even and held onto the best but membership, you didn't save any money from what I see. Not bad obviously I'm just wondering if I missed something.

They are definitely not at risk for bankruptcy. They are still turning a good profit each year. It typically takes 5+ years of large loses to companies like this to go under.

I started my membership last year when they offered this on games and I save $50 (only broke even at the start) by buying 3 Switch games published by Nintendo (they rarely go on sale anyways). Got an Asus laptop $100 less because it was locked behind their Best Buy Plus membership. Since I have a month left on my membership, this deal is a nice way of taking advantage of it before it expires and lose the free shipping.


edit: bought three $20 Steam gift cards, two $40 Nintendo E shop cards and Forza Horizon 5. Almost didn't notice I wouldn't make the requirement at $124.99 (by 1 cent) having a Nintendo $35 gift card. Make sure you are at or above $125 before tax and shipping when checking out).
