Does anyone know if this will work as an external hard drive for games via PS5?

It would, but you're restricted to PS4 games on external drives, so it's a bit overkill.

Honestly, their customer service is still better than others, and they still have decent deals, and are one of the very few sites with good options for computer parts.

Yes, I've come across the comment horror stories, and yes, I saw the GamersNexus video that everyone refers to, but I've honestly never had a bad costumer service scenario with them, and even GamersNexus in his video has said he had never had a bad run in with Newegg either, until that one video/scenario. They already changed their terms for open box items, which seemed to be the main issue. Anything new, theres no real reason not to choose Newegg.

I use a 1TB T7 to play my PS4 games. Works a treat with the PS5. Some games load faster off the external SSD from tests on YouTube so that's cool.

You can transfer PS5 games to the T7 but cannot play them off of the T7.

I use this to transfer files daily at work. It is so nice to transfer 5GB of mixed files in less than 20 sec! It's been reliable for over a yr now of a ton of use

Nope. I have 20 of these at work. Everyone has one for their daily working files and they've always worked great. If you get a protective case for it, take it out when using it so that it can dissipate heat.
