I bought this for work and I have had to go in twice to replace the ratchet. The directional selector gets stuck and ends up popping out. Probably ok for lite use at home. Or if you don't mind going into Ace to have it replaced.
Total crap though. I wouldn't waste my time or money on that set.
I buy a couple of these every time they go on sale. They are gr8 for gifts and for replacing lost or damaged sockets in bigger tool boxes. The ratchets are decent, but they don't last. And good luck finding replacements for warranty. My local Lowes haven't had any in stock for the last dozen or so times I've went in.

These look like decent deals, but it doesn't look like they will stack on the tough case / versastack stuff

In my experience they have not. Typically you can only use those coupons on regularly priced items. If you have a $5 reward in your Ace Rewards you can use that.

So the warranty is only good if they have the same exact one in stock? No substitution for one similar?

Usually they have to have the same item. It has made craftsman warranty not so great. Back when the Sears stores were well stocked, warranty was easy

My local lowes refuses to warranty any Craftsman tools unless you have a receipt and same goes for Kobalt because they could care less. At least the 3 lowes near me.

I would avoid Ace at all cost. The last two times buying at Ace was a horrible experience. Each Ace store is owned and managed individually, so it is totally up to the owner decide how they want to run it. I bought 20 chairs of 2 different kinds (10 each kind). 1 type was ok, the other type was so flimsy and look like it could break anytime anyone sit on it. So I want to return the flimsy one, but they didn't accept it, even though I just walked out of the store, the chairs haven't even left their parking lot.

I'd rather buy the Harbor Freight one for 6 bucks that has 2x more sockets.

My local Lowes will only warranty for the exact part number on the ratchet. And they have to be in stock.
