Full thickness brick? Sorry, no. It is only a 7" blade. If it is the 1/2" thick type, yes.
Wrong! many people in the review have said that they cut bricks up to 2" thick with this saw. As long as you have a right blade, it should be OK.

The motor looks suspiciously like most chinese angle grinder motors that sound like they are going to tear itself apart at any second.

Can people who have used this comment on the idling sound...... i.e. does it just hum or do you hear a big racket? My cheapo $100 just hums.

The arm and side bracket appear to be metal. Is that correct or is it plastic?
I just finished putting mine together, and I'm tempted to buy another one!!! Bascially, everything is metal except the motor part (not the red attachment, but the motor itself, the part that sticks up), and the pan. The shelf, assembly, stand, everything else seems to be pretty decent quality metal.

It's a heck of a deal for $140. I'm not a professional tiler, but I'm actually considering buying another one to stick it in my basement, just in case this one breaks in a couple of years....I guess I'm crazy.

The blade was really easy to install, so it'd be a cinch to replace if you thought it were necessary for your job.

Thanks OP and in for one.
I need a tile saw, the ~$70 cheap-o (that was returned) was pure junk.
The stand will be a great upgrade!

Boy, you're not kidding. I've used the $100 cheapo one for years, and every time I use it, it gets the job done (not pretty, but luckily I can cover up the mess with molding), but my back literally KILLS me afterward. Not to mention, I'm soaked by the time I'm done (as is everything else). This one even has a "splash guard" to cut down on the spillage.

I can't wait to find a friend who needs some tile work done so that I can try this out!!!!

The fix maybe easier than you think.

This behavior is typical of something that just doesn't know the lyrics.

I was able to return something at HD without a receipt maybe a year ago. They just gave me store credit rather than cash.

If you know how you paid (what credit card you used), they can look it up for you (I've done that TONS of times). If you paid cash or gift card, you're out of luck (or it's up to the judgement of the manager or the person returning it to give you a gift card for the return).

Otherwise, you can just tell them it didn't cut well enough, and I would assume they'd return it. You can even tell them you're buying a better one from HD.com!!!! It's all in the family!!

Nice deal! Grabbed one. I need to replace the WorkForce wet saw. It's not a bad unit, but I need a bit beefier one to handle the 12x12 tiles.

As long as it scans (ie: you still have the box right?) they'll usually give you a store credit if they can't look it up by your credit card.
They will likely ask you for your driver's license though, so hopefully you haven't had a string of receipt-less returns.

Check out the comments/reviews on the HD web site:

"I have rented wet saw's in the past and this one paid for itself in a couple of days. I have tiled a laundry room and bathroom so far. It was a little difficult when cutting 18"x18" tile (due to size) but worked okay."
