Currently I pay $50 for the Plus membership + 2 X $30 ink = $110 total to get $480 worth of overpriced junk.
My Plus membership ends in the middle of the month so thinking of not renewing to go to $10/month. So the ink $50 will still be needed I suppose?
My email (Plus member) states 20 per month.

As an added bonus I also received a $50 off $150 coupon

Note: Must get business or commercial flavor to get that $50 statement credit. I couldn't find the benefit of 20 carts per month being allowed. You can use your SSN as a TIN, And your name (or whatever you want) as your business name.
You still would need to spend $50+ in ink every 6-7 months. But no annual $49 Staples Plus membership fee.
I presume no annual fee? I might get this one next time I do an App-O-Rama.
This gives us a little longer for sure.

I would say it's more like we have been expecting them to eliminate it for years.
Whenever they want to eliminate recycling, they will- based on their numbers. They know it will hurt their ink sales considerably the way it is rigged.
So like them ending rebates, there will be a point when the recognize it simply has to be done.
Certainly, there are more hoops and they keep making it costlier as the years roll on.
Staples is the leader to follow.
OD/OM will quickly follow suit whenever Staples decides to eliminate it, regardless of any merger.
And if a merger hits, maybe much sooner than later. They would lose no one to the competition's program if they canceled both at once.
We all know the end will come, and like this time, likely without any (or much) notice.
I would wager that most of us who saw the email hit our boxes expected this was the end.
Just like every time they send one of these "Update to terms of the Staples Recycling Program" messages.
I don't know if I will continue, with so few deals, but there is time for me to consider it. Empties running low.
May I know when they sent the notice email for policy change?
Right now it said I am shorting $18 to hit $50 eligibilty. I had some last month reward $40. If I buy some inks total $65+ tax, will it add $65 to ink purchase, or $65-$40= $15 only?
thanks

So I chatted with them to confirm. Was told that regular members (not Plus member or Premier status) can only recycle 10 per month, even if you get the More Account Credit card.
So I cannot tell if you were grandfathered in for that benefit, or if maybe you have Premier status since you don't have Plus,
Bottom line is the 20 per month benefit is not available currently. That would have been an option for me if I still could do it and save the $50 yr (which they can raise at will).
Please show me some link to prove they were incorrect (besides your personal experiences).
Also to get the $50 statement credit (not discount) you need to get Business or Commercial flavor, for which one can use SSN and name instead of TIN. OR ebay seller ID for name of business etc...
