I contemplated buying this for a month as a fire pit.

The postives are that it can do smokeless fire and the stainless steel pit can look nice.

However, it does not radiate heat well like a traditional fire pit. It is like a stove as the name implies. It radiates heat straight up and burns through a lot of wood fast. They have a VERY expensive heat deflector accessory you can buy but it still will not radiate heat like you'd expect from a fire pit.

If you are looking for fire pit to warm you, ability to look into fire/embers, and not spend money on woods -- then skip this and buy a traditional fire pit. As a slickdealer, the math of buying an expensive fire pit and burning a lot of wood with limited heat radiation killed any and all desire to ever consider solo stove.

also there is a coupon that works for $20 off: DRIFTWOODDECOR20 in case you want a more expensive bundle that still puts it over the $250 mark

This is pretty much the same deal since their Memorial Day sale. You can make it slicker with a $50 off referral code link however SD prohibits any self promotions or referrals on here. So best bet is to find one off the interwebs if you're lucky.

I believe the $20 off code will stack, so if you find referral for $50 off, you'll have to bring total above $250 for the Amex promo to validate. Hence it'll be ideal for one of the more expensive bundles or simply add more items to cart. That's a total of $120 off the already significant sale price.

If that's the case, referrals might not allow code stacking. Those are the only verified codes I know of ATM. You can try and hunt down another one but essentially I would much rather pull the trigger with $50off vs $10-20 Wink
