The question is grab a couple of these and extend (although can you do 3 years max?)

Or wait until my 3 year gold to GPU $1 upgrade expires end of 2024? Then consider options

You might as well wait.
There have also been some pretty good deals on Xbox Live Gold 3 months codes that will convert to 50 days of GPU.

Confirmed real. My 2 codes worked… but know that CD keys will give you a scanned image of the back of a physical GamePass card with the scratch-off code revealed. It worked… I'm good. But that seemed sketchy.

The real question is whether either (or both) of the codes (Live/Ultimate) allow you to add a free month with auto billing, and, if so, does it work multiple times?

The extra month for turning on auto-billing is likely dependent on the user account rather than the code. Some people get the extra month offer, whereas others don't.

I was already a GCU member and extended using the xbox live code. It did not give me the option for a free month extension with the Gold card.

I agree with viovoxal. I've used them for years. Never an issue. The one time I did they got me a new code within the day

If youre close to your subscription end date, do 3 year trick. Even without any deals, places like Costco or Amazon has gold 12 month codes for ~$55. Three years worth + $15 to convert it = $180. $180 buying these GPU codes only gets you ~21 months compared to 36 months with the convert trick
