Please note that while this thing is basically the ideal Plex transcoder, if you want to be able to do HDR tone mapping in hardware then you will need to use Linux on it. With that on, you could easily transcode a half dozen 4k h.265 HDR videos simultaneously.
It's honestly pretty amazing. It's because for some reason Intel decided to include it's highest end laptop iGPU in this NUC. This gives it way more graphics cores for hardware transcoding than any other Intel based desktop device.

It has thunderbolt (or for that matter even USB 3) just add one!

I think I'm reading in the reviews it is windows compatible. Does it come included with windows??

This would be an overkill just for pfSense. Better look into HP T620 or similar.
