So what exactly are you gaining in the S8 for this $130 other than "newer model" and "more updates"? Any there any real tangible features that really justify the upgrade?

Can't speak for S8+ but I went from S7 to S8, if you put a gun to my head I would not be able to tell you the difference visually and from using it. Main benefit of upgrading it is future proofing it and to have the latest device to trade in for their next year's devices lol

Tempting, but having the 500GB 8GB ram S7 makes this a more difficult decision since I get the same exact deal as a base model S7. IDK.

Also 128gb s8 has 8gb of ram vs 6gb for 128gb s7.

I traded my Tab S7 for the Tab S8 + because samsung gave me $550 for the S7,and felt the upgrade from the S7 to the 8+ was worth it...Bigger screen,better screen Oled,newer cpu and longer updates..Just my opinion..

This is a good deal. Comes out to $111 with EDU, so it's cheaper than the pre order deal but doesn't include the free slim keyboard and $50 store credit. Here's the pre-order deal I did few months ago:

- $128 after S7 trade-in and Edu.
- $50 pre order credit.
- Free slim keyboard ($140).

However the whole preorder process was terrible, they sent the tablet 2 and a half months after original order date and cancelled the keyboard and gave me store credit for $140 + $25 compensation but I was fine with that because I already had the S7 keyboard, now I just gotta find a way to spend $215 on Samsung.

Yep. I wish they would account for storage tiers during trade-in to make it more appealing. For now I'll be holding on to my 512GB S7.

$279 to upgrade my s7+ 256gb, to a s8+ 256gb. Not really anything changed that I care about when you compare the specs. Also, the new Snapdragon 8 gen 1 processor sounds like it needs some help with the thermals. I will pass.

I had all 3 size at one point and the plus model at 12.5 is the best size for portability to screen ratio.

Yeah not much difference between S7 and S8...You'd have to upgrade to the S8+ or Ultra to notice a difference
