I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.
Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.
Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.
I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.
1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.
2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.
3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.
Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

I DO have two gift cards from yesterday for $800 each after trading in two Z Flip 3's.
The gift cards was the only step they were able to process yesterday.
On the paperwork they stapled to the gift cards it shows $350 for each flip and $450 each for the Samsung promotion.
I asked the rep at the mobile center if for whatever reason they remove the promotion for $899 for the 256 GB S22 Ultra, would I be able to use the gift cards to purchase anything else in the store and she said I could only use them to purchase a Samsung device. Don't know if this is true or not or if anyone got similar info.
Gonna have to visit again tomorrow.
I wonder if you can use the gift cards to purchase the unlocked phone via the app or online and just pick up in store and have them activate it to get the $899 price.
Manger wanted to give me 175 for my s20 FE + 225 with samsung promo code. He said
Total 400 TIV GC
I showed him the link of 400 to my s20 FE , he said that is total 400 with the samsung promo , I don't get 400 , I only get 175
I kept arguing that no that 400

He refused to give it to

Plus about $100 for 4 months of service. If you stack a referral code, it's even cheaper. Even if you flip a flip3 for it, Google Fi still comes out ahead in many states

However when he tried to order the phone for me, he had a heck of a time getting the right price to show. However he clicked until he added a bundle and somehow made it happen. Took about an hour but the guy really worked to make it happen.
