I drove for 20 minutes to a Best Buy the other day just to be told that my phone (Z Flip 3) was not on their trade in list, even though I said I did the same deal just a week ago at a different store. I argued for 20 minutes and didn't get anywhere, so the next day I went to a different store and got the deal in less than 10 minutes.
Not all Best Buy employees are trained the same, so don't be discouraged if one store says no, and just go to a different one.
Then, they may believe you but have trouble figuring out their system. When they pull up the model for the trade in, they have to go past the initial screen. When they do, the promo should show up. Then it's going to ask them for the promo code. That code is literally SAMSUNG. It's nowhere to be found otherwise.
I've traded in 3 phones under this promo because of the high values they're offering. Each experience varied.
1) First store did it without issue once I balked at the low trade in and mentioned the promo. He knew everything.
2) Second store couldn't figure out where the promo was and is responsible for the info I provided above.
3) Third guy refused, said they don't do trade ins and when shown the promo called his manager. Manager said Best Buy would have to be stupid to do this and refused. Lol. This was the same store as the first time, just different employees. Went to another store and they did it just fine.
Point is, the experience will vary widely depending upon the knowledge level of the employee. Just be polite and patient and stick to your guns. Most of them just aren't aware of the promotion or familiar with how to do it. One manager was so happy when I told her I thought I knew the promo code that she fist bumped me and thanked me profusely twice. Only one guy was a complete @$$.

Samsung has a similar deal with cracked screen phones such as S21U, where they give you $1,000 regardless.
I went to do this deal this past week to trade in some phones.
The rep could not get the full price down to $100 and could only get it down to $450 because the S22 Ultras had to be shipped to store and they weren't physically available at the moment (with an S21 Ultra trade in).
It was suggested that I purchase it at this price right now and then when the S22 Ultras came in, I could come back in, do a refund and do the trade-in process to get the appropriate value.
But if this deal expires on Sunday I'm afraid the deal won't be honored anymore.

The Samsung $800 should still be active for awhile, but sales price on phone probably not. I guess they could make it happen later but that will involve manager overrides, etc etc. Try another store today maybe?
