By a half million units as of February, not sure about recently.. 6.25 million vs 6.75 million units
PS5 sold over 17 millions so far. Xbox sold 14 mill which probably includes the crappy S.

There has been a shortage of production, as target is only selling these currently as all access.
Target is the only place you can get it that day rather than waiting several days to get something shipped.
Sony got production priority at tsmc, for their bundles.
And as they take turns, it's Microsoft's turn now.

How badly is Sony eating Microsoft's lunch in this generation? I literally don't know a single person who owns or wants the new Xbox. I love my PS5. I wasn't expecting such a large difference between the PS4 and PS5, but it's pretty noticeable
I have PS5, Xbox, PC. I would rank them PC->XBX->PS5. PC last if we include price.

Bought an Xbox and signed up for Game Pass. Haven't seen my family in 8 days. 10/10 would buy again.

Anyone know how long it's taking MS to ship these? Ordered one Friday, it's still saying pending... 🤨

TBH it's been a hassle for me. My original order was placed on 5/21 with an estimated delivery date for 6/8. They sent out a shipping order on 6/6 saying that it would be delivered on 6/7, but I never received it and the order was stuck on "pending".

The MS rep told me that the package was never given to FedEx and appears to be on hold, and just be patient. A week goes by and the shipping order is still stuck on pending, so I gave another call and they escalated my issue. Two days later, they issue a refund and stated they can't process my order. So I gave one last call and they processed another order for me on 6/16 with a estimated delivery date for 6/22.

With no shipping order given yet, I doubt I'm going to receive my order by tomorrow. I'm pretty skeptical at this point, I'll probably call at the end of the week if I don't receive any shipping information. I hope that you have better luck than I have.

Edit: Received on time 6/22, yay!

That sucks. It's really frustrating that the very manufacturer can't get it right.

My order was JUST placed into "In Transit" status. Praying now that it actually shows activity on the tracking number tomorrow.
Edit: on it's way. Delivery on Thursday

I just ordered one July 1st, estimated delivery of July 21st. Anyone else order one recently and know if it would be shipped sooner? Was hoping to get it sooner for a birthday present.

So why is it that ms has no supply issues for almost 6 month but Sony cannot fix their supply problem even today?
TSMC requires you to book capacity ahead, so if you don't buy enough, you have problems. They want to fill their manufacturing capacity with active customers, and use a reservation type system. Microsoft bought more. They were also lucky/smart with the white version because it used parts that were easy or less hard to get, for most of covid you could get the slim white version and the last 6months to a year the series x.
