edit: I forgot to mention this PC should come with 16gb of ram and a bigger SSD to be a solid deal at this price given the 10th gen CPU imo. It's not terrible i just think HP is still over pricing the 3060 in this build.

Very well explained, thank you. I actually have a background in this area, but really have not stayed up to to date with it. As anyone knows in tech these days, if you are out of the loop for a few years, it's like being out of the loop for a few decades.

Everything but the PSU. However, the motherboard rear I/O doesn't line up with ATX cases and you will lose all front I/O accessibility (unless you don't mind opening up your side panel to use the Type-C port or SD card reader). Also, the Windows 11 license is bound to the motherboard.

Not really. Proprietary power supply, motherboard, and possibly Case front panel connectors. You could salvage the CPU and gpu, the ram, and storage. But you would need a new case, power supply, motherboard, and CPU cooler, at minimum. The higher end HP Omen desktops use standard parts, but these smaller Pavilion models and their small envy desktops use a mess of proprietary components, which sucks.

its due to how the CPU and GPU are designed. CPU is very good at doing a broad range of things. GPUs crunch numbers, thats all the do and they do that very well. Mining is basically crunching numbers. so CPU Can do it, but its much less effective than a GPU. and when GPUs were cheap it was the go to. people just kept using it because there were setups designed to have dozens of GPUs for mining. no one developed a ton of CPU setups as they would all require motherboards, and ram, which add cost, and electricity to run that added GPUs dont.
