I know what is the issue now. the S &S has to be revised at the final order page right before finalizing the order, Amazon is very very sneaky. Now I got the $7.03 price
If you get 15% S&S, you should see $5.98 price
What you got is $6.29, which is one time purchase price of $7.4, minus 15% discount for S&S (means you have 5 subscriptions open now), here is the math
$7.4-$1.11(15% off)=$6.29
If you correct the default option at the final order page for S&S, you should get the price for
$7..03 -$1.05(15% off)=$5.98

It's dead at the price, but I never understood what you meant by 'correct the default option at the final order page'. I could only get $6.29 as final price. I did not see another option other than how many months for next one.
